7. CHEUNG KAI SHEK'S () troops have reached the

()troops

borders of Shantung and Kiangsu (I). They will

not proceed further towards Pekin CHEUNG KAI SHEK'S

next move will be directed against Hankow (TONG SANG

CHI and FUNG YUK CHEUNG).

8. The Canton agent's professed certain belief is that

CHEUNG KAI SHEK will be eliminated during the next few

months. I believe that this consideration will

influence General LI CHAI SAM'S policy in Canton.

9. The next two weeks should clear the present obscure

situation in the North, but the agent prophesied

the elimination of both Nankin and Hankow as seats

of Government. He indicated a new combination

holding a controlling power in Pekin viz:-

IM SIK SHAN (YEN SHI SHAN), FUNG YUK CHEUNG (FENG

李宗仁).

YU HSIANG) and LI CHUNG YAN ($).

I do not know how this last is to be brought

about. Sir Robert Ho Tung may have more information. At

present, it does not seem probable, if possible.

sd. T.H. King.

Director of Criminal Intelligence.

13th June, 1927.
